MALVERNE’S ELLs
All teachers are teachers of English Language Learners (ELLs). Teachers at Malverne provide our ELLs’ with the proper language development and support instruction in harmony with the Next Generation Learning Standards. As outlined in our district’s NYS ELL Blueprint, Malverne UFSD recognizes that parent involvement is pivotal in their children’s education, and we make every effort to ensure that parents of ELLs’ actively participate in their child’s education.
At Malverne, ELLs receive the right tools and support, to master reading, writing and vocabulary skills in the content area classes. Vocabulary is a key factor in fostering academic knowledge and teachers use all available resources to advance vocabulary mastery. Creating an environment that provides encouragement, opportunity, tools, positive interaction, motivation and self-image enrichment for all students is the main goal of our Malverne Languages community.
